Mikulov Wine Trail

The Mikulov Wine Trail is definitely Bike Tour No. 1 when staying in Mikulov. It combines a restful ride under the Pálava Hills through vast vineyards with meeting historical jewels (Lednice-Valtice Area, registered in the UNESCO Monuments List).

In general, the Mikulov Wine Trail is 82 km long and has a yellow-green marking.

It leads through following places:
Mikulov (castle, historical centre, Jewish Town, Turold Cave) – Noosed – Ivan – Dolní Věstonice (a museum with an archaeological exposition) - Milovice – Bulhary – Lednice (castle, castle park, glasshouse with tropical plants, Malawi Aquarium) – Hlohovec – Valtice (castle, castle wine collection room) – Úvaly – Mikulov.

You may opt for a shorter circuit combined with the Moravian Wine Trail (red marking):

Mikulov – Sedlec (famous Sedlec wines) - Valtice (castle, Wine Saloon of the Czech Republic) - Hlohovec – A roundabout route to Hraniční Castle (classicists building, recently hotel and restaurant) - Lednice (castle and castle garden registered in the UNESCO World Heritage List, glasshouse, aquarium) – Bulhary – Milovice (with a view on Nové Mlýny Water Basin) - Pavlov (from here down the Moravian Wine Trail – red marking, view on Dívčí hrady/Maiden Towers, the dominant of Pálava Hills) – Klentnice (Sirotčí hrádek/Orphan´s Tower, another dominant of Pálava Hills)- Kočičí skála/Cat Rock – Mikulov.

This route is 42 km long.
